Ginjinha is a liqueur made from the fermentation of sour cherries soaked in brandy. Sugar and a cinnamon stick are then added. It is a liqueur widely consumed in Portugal. It is traditional to say “with” or “without” when ordering ginjinha—that is, whether the drink is served with or without the fruit in the glass.
Should be served as an aperitif or digestif, to accompany desserts or to be enjoyed on its own.
