The goal of PTDF is to make the website available to the users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, access to the website may occasionally be restricted to allow new products and functionalities or developments to be added, or for maintenance or repairs to be carried out, or for any other reason. PTDF does not accept liability for any interruption or unavailability of the website.
To make an order, users should follow the steps described below:
(a) Browse and search the website using the product categories menu;
(b) The products will be presented with an “Add to basket” option. If the “Add to basket” option is shown, you can make the order. Articles that do not have the “Add to basket” option may require an additional selection (e.g. grams) when clicking on the product, or a legal validation (e.g. age restriction for alcoholic beverages). Moreover, some products can only be viewed online and must be purchased in the physical stores managed by PTDF in the different airports located in Portugal;
(c) After adding all your purchases to the basket, you may click on the basket to review the articles. At this stage, you may update the quantities you intend to acquire or delete articles. When you are happy with your basket of purchases, you can proceed with the order. If you have not started the session and you have a user account, you are given the option to “Start session”. If you do not yet have a user account, you will be presented with the “Register” or “Finalise purchase as a guest” options.
(d) You will be taken to the “Order details” page, where you can confirm the pickup point, and the date and time of collection.
(e) Afterwards, you will be taken to the “Billing address” page, where you should fill in the address to be included on the bill.
(f) Upon selecting your method of payment, a new Payment window will open where you should select the desired method of payment, fill in the details on the form and submit the order.
(g) The order is now finalised and the user will receive an order confirmation email. You will receive another email when your order is ready for collection, with a summary of the information about the collection of the order.
(h) The bill/receipt will be delivered when the order is collected, together with the purchases.
When the user has to be contacted, we will use the email address or if necessary the telephone number provided by the user when the order was made. The customer must inform us of any changes to the contact details that may occur between the completion of the order and the planned collection time. PTDF cannot be held responsible for any consequences arising from the customer’s failure to communicate a change in contact details.
The total amount owed shall be shown in euros (€) on the website and confirmed by email and shall include all applicable taxes. The VAT rate and the rate of any other applicable taxes shall be the rates in force at the moment of payment.
The essential features of the products are outlined in the product description. However, the products are subject to frequent alterations, which the user/customer should keep track of.
We therefore are not responsible for any divergences and/or modifications between the product information shown on the website as provided by the supplier/manufacturer and the actual product. We recommend that you always read the information on the labels, packages or documents that accompany the product, before using or consuming it.
All and any fraudulent activity, even if only attempted, which aims to obtain benefits through acts that do not respect or which subvert the purpose of this service, and/or which are in breach of the stipulations in these terms and conditions, shall be considered illegal, and we may block access to the website and take the legal action deemed necessary.
The prices shown on the website are subject to change, so the user/customer should always keep up to date with the product information.
We will take reasonable precautions to try and ensure that the prices shown on this website are correct and that all the products are described accurately. However, when ordering products through this website, take into account that:
(a) we reserve the right not to fulfil any order if we discover any relevant errors as regards the product description or the price shown on this website;
(b) the package may be different to the image shown on the website and the weight, dimensions and other characteristics shown on the website may be approximate; and
(c) although we take appropriate measures to present the products accurately on the website, the colours, appearance and other characteristics (as applicable) may be affected by your computer or monitor and we cannot guarantee that the presentation of an image on your computer or monitor exactly reflects the colours, appearance and other characteristics (when applicable) of the product you ordered.
All the products presented on the website are subject to availability and any order limits that may be applied. We do not guarantee that all the products shown on the website are in stock and available for order, but we will make every reasonable effort to satisfy the expectations of the users. Insofar as permitted by law, we are not responsible for any unavailability or limitation of the sale of the products advertised. The prices shown on the website are valid only for purchases made through the PTDF online store. As such, we reserve the right to offer different prices online to the prices charged in the physical stores.
If the user has not made an order online, or if for some reason we have not received the user’s order or full payment from the user for an online order, we are not compelled to honour any online price or online promotion claimed at the pickup point.
To order and pay online, users should:
(a) for all products with age restriction, namely alcoholic beverages, be over eighteen years of age;
(b) for all purchases be over sixteen years of age;
(c) act in the capacity of a consumer and not exercising any commercial or professional activity. Hence, whenever there is a suspicion that the products acquired are not for the user’s own consumption, we reserve the right to refuse the order.
(d) make the order during the window for online purchases as detailed here; and
(e) be leaving from any of the airports which have a pickup point as shown in this website.
If a person trying to make an order does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, the order shall be considered, for all purposes, not accepted and therefore null and void.
Users should check that the personal data and the respective flight details supplied are correct and complete.
Users are solely responsible for guaranteeing that their order is in compliance with the customs permissions and requirements of any country they intend to enter with the products ordered from the online store.
PTDF does not accept any responsibility for non-compliance by the user with the local or international requirements, any tax laws or any other customs requirements that may apply to the user and/or the products ordered through the online store.
Users are advised to check, before ordering products from the online store, that the purchases will not put them in a situation of non-compliance with any tax laws or customs regulations.
All prices are shown in euros (€) and include VAT, other taxes and customs fees that are applicable.
We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the prices shown are accurate, but we will not accept liability, insofar as permitted by law, for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the advertised prices.
If we find any error in the price of a product ordered by users online, we shall inform the user of this error and he/she shall have the option to cancel the order, through written communication, or to purchase the product at the correct price.
Any email message, automatic or not, or recorded delivery note about an order made does not mean we have to accept the order. Acceptance of the order and the completion of the contract between the user and PTDF will take place when the user collects the products ordered, at the respective Pickup Point. We reserve the right not to accept orders for any of the reasons outlined in these Terms and Conditions, or for any other legitimate reason, even if not expressly stipulated in these Terms and Conditions.
All products ordered from the online store shall remain property of PTDF until being collected by the user at the respective Pickup Point. To avoid all doubt, an order made through this website, even when the reception of the order is confirmed in writing, does not comprise a product sale or purchase contract, but rather a proposal by the user to purchase the products. The sale contract of any products ordered through this website will only be completed upon the physical presence of the user at the Pickup Point and the transfer of the products into the user’s possession, at which moment the risk of damage or loss of the product(s) is passed to the user.
All payments with a card are subject to authorisation from the card issuer. The payment service is provided by Paygate and MB Way.
During the checkout process, you shall be asked to fill in your payment details. All the fields should be filled in accurately. Payments made with Mastercard and Visa cards may require validation before completing the payment through the Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode programmes.
PTDF, or third parties acting of its behalf, shall validate your credit/debit card before accepting your order. We shall not accept your order if your card is refused in any phase of the order process.
All owners of credit/debit cards are subject to validation and authorisation checks by the card issuer. We shall not be held responsible for any delay or failing in the processing of an order if the issuer of the payment card used refuses to pay, or delays authorisation of the payment.
Users can collect their orders at the pickup point, located in the shopping area of Portugal Duty Free in the selected airport. Details about the pickup points can be consulted here.
To collect the order and ensure a smooth process, show the email sent confirming the details of your order.
To collect the order, users will have to present an identification document, a valid boarding pass and the order confirmation email. This is a prior condition to allow the products to be handed over to the user. We reserve the right to refuse the delivery of any products ordered by the user if the user does not provide this information or if any details supplied online by the user are different from the details presented at the moment of collection, at the selected Pickup Point.
In relation to the pickup point business hours, we will make every reasonable effort to comply with the advertised opening hours. However, occasionally the business hours may be affected by factors outside our control, for operational reasons. Whenever possible, we will inform the user in advance if we are aware of any delay or change in the business hours of the respective Pickup Point. If we cannot fulfil the specified business hours and the user cannot collect the product(s) because of this, the user shall be entitled to a full refund of the price of the order, with no other compensation.
The exchange of a product or the refund of its price shall take place within a maximum of 30 days after the purchase is made and only if the product is in the same state as when it was purchased (the original package must be intact and complete, the product sealed and containing all the manuals, parts and accessories included), along with the respective receipt.
Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, underwear, products bought in sales or in promotions, and used, opened or damaged items cannot be exchanged, unless they have production defects, in which case the producer’s guarantee shall be activated.
PTDF will not give refunds in the store, but only exchange products for other articles or items of the same total price or more than the price paid for the product that was initially purchased. If the product is exchanged for a product(s) of a higher value, the customer shall pay the difference.
To exchange a product the customer should go to a store operated by PTDF. If it is impossible to go to a PTDF store, the user should contact the Customer Care Service through our contact page or by email: apoiocliente@ptdf.pt.
For refunds the customer should contact the Customer Care Service through our contact page or by email: apoiocliente@ptdf.pt.
If any flight is cancelled, delayed or any other change or cancellation of your travel plans makes it impossible to collect the products ordered from the website, inform us as soon as possible and we will provide a different date for collection, or in certain cases issue a full refund for the order.
If, after making an order, users decide they do not want any product they have ordered, the order can be cancelled within a deadline of 45 days counting from the scheduled order collection date, without having to give a reason. To cancel the order, users should inform the customer care service.
The cost of delivery of products for exchange or refund shall be borne by the customer, and shall never be refunded by PTDF.
In the case of a refund of the price paid for a product, regardless of the reason for the return, a full refund of the amounts paid by the user/customer shall be maximum limit of our responsibility.
The goods acquired are covered by a 3-year guarantee, in compliance with Decree-Law 84/2021, of 18 October.
If the product acquired has a defect, customers should contact the Customer Care Service via our contact page or by email (apoiocliente@ptdf.pt), attaching a copy of the receipt and a description of the defect. The cost of returning or collecting articles within the Guarantee period shall be borne by PTDF – Portugal Duty Free, Lda.
After the article is received at the PTDF headquarters, it will be forwarded to the producer’s Technical Assistance team, which will carry out a technical check and proceed in accordance with its Guarantee Policy.
If the technical check detects signs of improper use and/or any problem that may have been caused by the mishandling of the item (e.g. a fall, dampness, etc.) the customer shall be contacted and asked whether he/she would like the technical assistance team to repair the equipment or whether it should be immediately returned.
Perishable products are not covered by this guarantee, nor are limited durability products, or others which owing to their nature cannot be covered by a guarantee.
