Bumbu Rum is named after the 400-year-old rum “Bumbu” made by pirates and merchants in the 16th and 17th centuries. Inspired by this history, Bumbu XO is a small batch rum made in Panama in a distillery that dates back more than 120 years.
Bumbu Rum is created using traditional methods in historic stills that date back to 1912. Bumbu XO spends 18 years in American white oak bourbon barrels and is then selectively finished in Andalusian white oak sherry barrels. The Spanish sherry casks are made from white oak grown in Spain’s Andalusia region, selected to achieve a beautifully balanced and endlessly smooth sipping rum. Aromas of toffee, toasted oak and vanilla give way to orange zest, peppery spice and a subtle hint of coffee on the palate, resulting in a beautifully balanced, endlessly sippable rum.
