Bushmills #3 Char Bourbon Cask Reserve is the third edition in its travel retail-exclusive Steamship Collection, launched to mark the 125th anniversary of the SS Bushmills steamship's maiden voyage. This edition results from a long-standing relationship with coopers from Louisville, Kentucky, who reserve only the finest American white oak Bourbon casks to mature this unique whiskey. The seasoned casks are emptied and custom-charred before being shipped to the Old Bushmills Distillery and filled exclusively with triple-distilled Bushmills Single Malt Irish Whiskey. The char significantly impacts the flavour, drawing out spicy, honeyed vanilla notes from deep within the cask. The result is a rare limited release, matured to perfection in first-fill #3 char Bourbon casks, delivering honeyed maltiness and notes of toasted oak, spices, and crème brûlée, with a long, rich, and smooth finish.
