First matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for 12 years and finished for four years in Ruby Port casks, sourced from the Douro valley's most remarkable houses. Ruby Port gives Bowmore another level of sweetness and fruitiness in casks that have already been seasoned with Bordeaux to give a less dry finish.

• Nose: Tanned leather, moist blackcurrants, fennel seeds, aniseed, hints of ginger, walnuts and bonfire embers.
       
• Taste: Fruity green apples, honey, soft and creamy shortbread with a sprinkling of sugar, with a hint of dried fruit.
       
• Finish: Soft but mature fruitiness.
