A beautiful red wine with a clear and deep garnet color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of black plum, ripe cherries, and subtle hints of red fruits and spices, creating complexity and giving this wine a very special character. On the palate, it is very balanced, with flavors reminiscent of the nose, complemented by subtle notes of fully ripe citrus. As has been shown over the years, it is a rounded and structured wine, yet elegant, with soft tannins, finishing with a long and flavorful aftertaste.
Pairing Suggestion: Traditional Portuguese dishes such as Trás-os-Montes bean stew or roasted meat. It also pairs well with red meats and vegetarian dishes based on lentils, tomato, and beetroot.
Quinta dos Aciprestes stretches along the Douro River with its gentle slopes, in an area entirely replanted with the finest grape varieties of the Douro Demarcated Region.
Located between the sub-regions of Cima-Corgo and Upper Douro, its vineyards benefit from a microclimate that provides ideal conditions for grape ripening. The Quinta dos Aciprestes Red is made from Old Vine plots, predominantly composed of Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz, with smaller proportions of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Amarela. A subtly powerful red with a distinct fruitiness, it expresses the unique character of Quinta dos Aciprestes.
